Transfr is a leading workforce education company dedicated to strengthening communities by helping more individuals pursue pathways to upward mobility. Through a comprehensive classroom-to-career platform, we connect education, workforce development, and community organizations with employers to provide immersive career exploration and skills training programs.
Our XR-based, multi-modal learning approach combines mobile technology, virtual reality simulations, and curriculum resources to help learners discover, experience, and prepare for well-paying careers, many of which don’t require a four-year degree. With more than 330 interactive training simulations across 16 career clusters, Spanish-language support, and partnerships with institutions nationwide, Transfr’s technology-driven solutions have reached more than 400,000 learners.
Transfr transforms career exploration and workforce training through virtual reality experiences that simulate real-world work environments.
- Career Exploration: Transfr Trek guides learners through a complete career discovery journey. First, students start with a career interest assessment that matches them to careers based on their interests and skills. From there, they can explore comprehensive career data such as wage information, education requirements, and certification pathways. Then they can select certain occupations to experience as interactive VR simulations that provide virtual hands-on work experiences as they are guided by a virtual coach. Transfr Trek’s mobile-enabled web app then makes it easy to create, share, and track their career plans.
- Workforce Skills Training: With Transfr Virtual Training Facility, learners practice real job skills safely across 330+ VR simulations in high-demand industries. Our immersive approach helps to improve retention and build confidence without the costs and safety risks of training in a physical environment. Within the Transfr Admin Dashboard, instructors get detailed progress dashboards to personalize learner support and track skills development.

Transfr is the market leader in immersive career exploration and VR skills training in revenue, market share, and thought leadership. Transfr stands out in several ways:
- Our learning solutions support the entire classroom-to-career continuum to help learners select a career pathway, demonstrate early proficiencies within a career cluster, and prepare for industry certifications and employment.
- We are on the cutting-edge of XR and learning innovation, enabling the delivery of scalable, engaging, multimodal experiences that drive better outcomes.
- We connect education, workforce development, community-based organizations, and employers to bring programs to youth and adults, enabling them to explore career paths and train for high-growth, well-paying careers.
- Transfr Trek: Career Exploration offers day-in-the-life virtual reality simulations for 50+ careers, including in-demand jobs like Solar Technician or Financial Analyst.
- Virtual Training Facility: Skills Training offers virtual reality skills-based training for 8 industries, including Automotive, Aviation, Construction, Diesel Technology, Electrical Construction, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Manufacturing, including a robust catalog of over 330+ skills-based learning simulations.
Unlike traditional classroom lectures or static online modules, Transfr’s VR training puts learners directly into realistic work environments where they can practice skills hands-on. Students can operate heavy machinery, perform medical procedures, or troubleshoot automotive systems in a safe, controlled setting that mirrors real workplace conditions.
This immersive approach leads to significantly higher engagement rates and better knowledge retention compared to passive learning methods. Our platform allows students to make mistakes, learn from them, and repeat procedures until they achieve mastery—something that’s often impossible or expensive in traditional training settings.
What sets us apart from other VR training providers is our focus on career exploration alongside skills training. Students don’t just learn technical skills; they experience what different careers actually feel like, helping them make more informed decisions about their future pathways.
Transfr Trek
Trek offers many advantages over legacy CCR software products:
- Multi-modal Approach: Trek combines a mobile-optimized web experience with immersive VR simulations and a robust curriculum resource, providing a more engaging and connected learning journey. Legacy CCR platforms often focus primarily on web-based tools and information for college readiness, with many students complaining that they are more like homework or a tax on their time.
- Emphasis on Career Exploration: Trek prioritizes career exploration, with a strong focus on interactive assessments, VR simulations, and personalized career matching. Legacy platforms often lean more heavily towards college planning and academic tracking.
- VR-Powered Career Experiences: Trek’s VR simulations offer learners a unique opportunity to experience realistic job environments and tasks firsthand. This immersive approach is not typically found in legacy CCR platforms.
- Accessibility and Inclusivity: Trek’s VR simulations are designed to be accessible to all learners, with features like Spanish language support and closed captioning. Legacy platforms may have limitations in terms of language support and accessibility features.
- Focus on Non-Traditional Pathways: Trek recognizes that not all learners are college-bound and provides support for exploring a wider range of career pathways, including skilled trades and apprenticeships. Legacy platforms often prioritize four-year college pathways and fall short of supporting post-secondary paths like trade schools or apprenticeships.
- Affordability and Value: Trek offers a comprehensive solution at a competitive price point, making it a more accessible option for schools and organizations with limited budgets. Legacy platforms can be expensive, especially for smaller districts or organizations.
- Connected Classroom-to-Career Pathway: Trek is designed to support the entire classroom-to-career continuum, from career awareness and exploration to skill development and job placement. Legacy platforms may have a narrower focus on specific aspects of the journey.
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Transfr is committed to ongoing research and development, ensuring that Trek remains at the forefront of career exploration technology. Legacy platforms may have slower innovation cycles
