Career pathways and prospects for young people are constantly changing, and schools need to evolve to keep up. At Charlotte- Mecklenburg Schools, students in middle and high school are exploring their career options and building valuable skills with VR from Transfr. The district’s CTE director was originally drawn to Transfr to enhance their summer programming (which includes academic enrichment and career development), but use of VR quickly spread district-wide after the initial rollout.
Students Explore Careers, Build Skills With VR
The district built buzz for VR internally by first educating instructors — with them on board, excitement quickly transferred to the students! High demand for VR from students means the district must be mindful about getting headsets to the right places and ensuring maximum access for students.
The students really enjoyed the headsets and were engaged the entire time. The instructors were excited about the headsets too — we can’t wait to keep using them!

One fear a lot of organizations and instructors share is how they will deploy and integrate new technology like Transfr. For the team at Charlotte-Mecklenburg, professional development training combined with help from Transfr’s Customer Support Team paved the way for a successful deployment.
It was surprising just how easily instructors were able to integrate Transfr into their curricula!
