MOZAIC’s mission is to support people with intellectual and other disabilities in New York’s Finger Lakes Region on their unique pathways to success. The dedicated team serves over 2,000 people and their families throughout the region. VR career exploration from Transfr allows service-recipients to learn about a wide array of roles and start planning their career paths. VR career exploration facilitates robust experiences for people with disabilities without specialized equipment or expensive trips to actual workplaces.
VR career exploration broadens horizons
For MOZAIC clients, VR is about more than just exploring careers in a fun, compelling way — it’s also about empowering them to investigate careers they might never have thought of doing. VR allows them to experience a day in the life of various careers in a safe, cost-effective manner.
With Transfr, students can explore and learn about “hands-on” jobs that they might be interested in without going into a warehouse to practice stacking boxes and or grinding metal.

MOZAIC Clients Excited to Use VR
Creating a supportive environment for VR use
VR lets people see exactly how jobs are done — and they’re given step-by-step instructions. It’s a lot more interesting being able to help do the job than just watching.
